The week of October 16, 2016 was another highly eventful one in oldies music. Both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame announced their respective nominees for 2017. Rock and roll legend Chuck Berry celebrated his 90th birthday (October 18, 2016), and on that day, he announced his latest album, "Chuck," to be released in 2017. Also that week, fans bade a final farewell to Robert "Big Sonny" Edwards of The Intruders and Chess Records co-founder Phil Chess.
